The Reliance Synthetics Dhenkanal Khyatigrastha Shramik Sangha resorted to an indefinite hunger strike protesting the illegal machine transfer by the company without giving VRS dues to the labourers.
The workers staged the stir after the scheduled meeting with Reliance Synthetics Dhenkanal Khyatigrastha Shramik Sangh legal advisor Debashisha Hota under the chairmanship of the ADM to settle the VRS dues was cancelled.
Notably, at a meeting held earlier on February 9, it was decided to calculate the VRS dues of the loser labourers within 15 days and the next meeting was fixed for Friday.
More than 500 people gathered inside the premises of the district Collectorate and blamed the callous attitude of the owner of the Reliance Industries ltd.
The dismantling and machine movement of the company is ceased till all the loser labourers get their VRS dues paid, said Hota.
