The ‘Paree Pain Khathatie’ programme organised by the police administration in Dhenkanal on Monday ultimately turned a damp squib as political personalities, officials and a few invited film personalities reached more than two hours late to their respectivevenues.
Sources said the awareness programme for Pari was to be held at Ministadium here on Monday at 9 am, after a procession from Bazi Chouk led by the local MP. But MP Tathagata Satpathy reached late even as small kids were waiting him in the hot summer.
A few officials deliberately made it late to start the programme, ignoring the plight of the small school boys and girls. The children from various schools, invited to perform cultural programme, had to wait at least more than three hours, as many crazy speakers gave lengthy talks.
