The 15th Dhenkanal Mahostav was inaugurated here after worship at the Chandra Sekhar Jew temple on the Kapilash hills on Wednesday. On the occasion, a trekking of the hills took place.
Inaugurating the Mahotsav, Dhenkanal MP Tathagat Satpathy underlined the importance and promotion of art, literature and culture of the district. The meeting was presided over by district Collector Rupa Roshan Sahu.
Among others, Dhenkanal SP Manoranjan Mohanty, Zilla Parishad president Binodini Samal, Dhenkanal Municipality chairman Indramani Behera, DRDA Project Director Surenrdra Prasad Das, mountaineer Kalpana Dash and district sports officer Pradipta Kumar Mohanty, besides block chairmen, BDOs and NAC chairpersons, were present. Satya Narayan Kar and DIPRO Manas Ranjan Biswal coordinated.
Interestingly, none of the MlAs from the four Assembly constituencies were seen during the celebration. When contacted, Parjang MlA and BJD district president Nrusingha Sahu said he was busy in other matters, while Hindol MlA Anjali Behera did not respond.
