Junior Engineer Rajendra Prasad Mishra of Kamakhyanagar NAC in Dhenkanal district was arrested for demanding bribe of Rs 25,000 for issuing work completion certificate.
Suresh Nayak of Mahimanagar village in Kamakhyanagar had complained with the Vigilance. A trap was laid on Friday and the accused was caught red handed in his office. Mishra’s residential house at Patapura in Nimapara town of Puri district was searched. In another case, the Vigilance sleuths arrested Dhaneswar Samantaray, secretary, Arikama Service Cooperative Society, Bolagarh, for demanding bribe of Rs 2,000 for sanction of fresh loan and disbursement of crop insurance. laxmikanta Panda of Kanharpur village in Khordha had lodged a complaint against Samantaray, who was trapped on Friday while receiving the bribe. His residential house at Arikaman under Bolagarh police station was searched.
