CESC Mahimagadi Khyatigrastha Praja Samiti convenor Debashisha Hota was invited for a meeting by the Dhenkanal district administration to sort out the problems with regard to establishment of CESC power plant.
Praja Samiti’s 5-point charter of demands was taken up for consideration. Hota clarified that the Praja Samiti was in favour of establishment of the plant provided the local land oustees are suitably compensated and the company comes up with a fair CSR policy.
Here noteworthy that, the Praja Samiti, representing nearly 20,000 people of 35 villages in Gondia and Dhenkanal Sadar block, has been holding an agitation for suitable compensation to the land losers and against exploitation by the company. The plant is proposed to be set up at Chhatia, Bandhanuagan and Durgaprasad villages in Dhenkanal.
