Ganjam Collector Vijaya Amrut Kulange on Friday alerted officials to keep guard to prevent the possible community spread of Covid-19 as migrants have started arriving in the district.
Addressing a Zoom meeting, Kulange said that keeping in view the growing number of positive cases in the district, the administration has already started door-to-door health screening of citizens, distribution of medicine kits, etc.
Kulange also appealed to doctors and other healthcare professionals to immediately start required treatment without waiting for the Covid test reports so that lives can be saved well in time. He advised doctors to check oxygen level of patients at regular intervals. He directed officials to start Covid testing cells to help people going from one place to another for jobs.
He instructed all BDOs to coordinate with Panchayati Raj Institution members more frequently to find out mechanisms at local levels for effective Covid-19 management.
