A divyang girl was allegedly raped by a nieghbour in Nilagiri area of the district. Though the incident occurred on August 5, it came to light after the mother of the victim lodged a complaint in the connection with police, on Thursday evening.
As per the complaint, the accused, a married man raped the girl at her house when her mother had gone to work. She narrated the ordeal to her mother after the latter returned home. Police have registered a case and raided various places to apprehend the accused, who is on the run. Notably, the accused had earlier molested the girl and apologised for the incident.
