After a brief lull, another distressed farmer committed suicide in Bargarh district due to crop loss and loan burden on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Rath Sa (62) of Chicheli village in Bargarh district. Reports stated that Sa took the extreme step by consuming pesticide on Friday. Reports stated that Sa cultivated paddy cultivated paddy in two acres of land. But due to poor irrigation facility his paddy got damaged.
Sources said he was facing financial crisis and was unable to pay the loan he had taken for cultivation purpose. Finding no alternative, he consumed poison. Though he was immediately rushed to the nearby hospital he was declared dead there.
