The Sport and Youth Services Department would organise the 23rd District Youth Festival on November 11 and 12 at the Brahmapur Stadium here, informed District Sports Officer Prasant Kumar Sahu at a Press meet held here on Monday.
For the event, a committee has been formed under the chairmanship of Brahmapur Sub-Collector Bijaya Kumar Dash in which District Education Officer, Culture Officer, Information and Public Relation Officer, Tourism India Secretary Narayan Mahakuda, CUREM secretary and classical dance teacher laxman Dash are members.
Around 500 youths in the 13-35 year age group will participate in the event. Debate, singing, tabla flute, harmonium, one-act play and different forms of dance competitions would be held.
Persons having experience in the field of art and culture like Amiya Kumar Tripathy, Abhayendu Patnaik and Ganesh Patnaik have been chosen as jury members for the competition.
As per the schedule, winners of this fest would participate in the State Youth Festival. Among others, Brahmapur Stadium in-charge Sachindra Majhi, I &PRO Pramila Majhi, Brushaketa Dash and sports teacher Kedar Chaudhury, Kedar Sahu and Chitrasen Samal were present.
