The 8th district-level Science Fair and 46th Jawaharlal Nehru Science and Environment Exhibition 2019 was inaugurated by Water Resources and I and PR Minister Raghunandan Das at the Erasama High School premises, 30 km away from here, on Tuesday.
Das reiterated Balikuda was home for the globally renowned scientist late Dr Pranakrushna Parija and his research and invention on botany had been recognised by across the world. He appealed students to work hard to become a scientist like Dr Parija. Jagatsinghpur MLA Prasanta Muduli, Paradip MLA Sambit Routray, Jagatsinghpur MP Dr Rajashree Mallick, Zilla Parishad President Priyadarshini Biswal, professor Paban Kumar Jena and DEO Prativa Manjari Das also spoke.
As many as 159 science projects prepared by school students from different blocks were exhibited at the fair and a total of 79 projects were selected for State-level.
