A physically-challenged minor tribal girl of Podasanka village in Gajapati district, who was raped and five months pregnant now, has been rescued by the Mohana Child line.
The minor girl is a deaf and dumb while her mother is also physically-challenged. While she was taking care of goats in a field alone, someone came and raped her. The incident came to the fore after the villagers noticed the girl facing difficulties due to her pregnancy. The villagers informed the matter to the Mohana Child line, following which Child line staffs reached the spot and rescued the girl and sent her to the Mohana Hospital for treatment.
The girl would be sent to the Paralakhemundi Child line Office for her necessary safety and protection after the medical reports are out, said Gajapati Child line Director Sudheer Sabat.
