The district administration is taking all steps to ensure that all the welfare schemes of the Government reach the people with disabilities (PWDs), said Ganjam district Collector Prem Chandra Chaudhury at a function here on Monday on occasion of the International Disability Day organised by the district administration and the Social Security and Empowerment for Persons With Disabilities Department (SSEPD).
local MlA Ramesh Chandra Chaupatnaik said there should be no difference between the general people and PWDs. During the occasion hearing aids and sewing machines were provided by the PWD Rehabilitation Centre to some PWDs. The guests also distributed prizes to the winners of different competition held earlier. Former Minister Pradeep Panigrahi , BDA Chairman Subash Maharana , ADMO Prasant Kumar Patro also spoke. Social Security Officer Prasanna Kumar Mallick offered a vote of thanks.
