Members of the Sanskarabadi organisation would stage a dharna in front of the Brahmapur railway station on Friday demanding a direct train from Brahmapur to Puri.
“We have been demanding a direct train from Brahmapur to Puri since long. People of south Odisha can get benefits from such a facility,” said Trinath Moharana of Sanskarabadi.
With the launching of the train, devotees of Brahmapur can go to Puri and return on the same day also, he explained.
Though the Railways is collecting substantial revenue from the Brahmapur railway station, the State Government is not taking any steps to ensure this facility, rued the members.
“If the train is not introduced before the upcoming Rath Yatra, we would intensify our stir,” Moharana added.
