Rourkela BJP MlA Dilip Ray has welcomed the State Government’s decision for implementation of the 7th Pay Commission’s recommendation for its employees but simultaneously urged the Government to think for the workers of other sectors.

Through social media Ray has stated that the Government’s decision will benefit nearly 8 lakh employees and pension holders, but there should be no discrimination against the workers of other categories. The Government programmes are implemented through a vast network of workers those of Anganwadi, ASHA, Krushak Sathis, Gramrakshis and many others. Besides, there are employees in PSUs and local Self-Government bodies who work for the public and whose concerns must be taken into account, Ray has said. The Government should adopt a uniform approach towards compensating employees who work for the people. Besides, it has also to ensure reasonable wages to all categories of workers through policy and regulatory interventions. Rise in income across all strata of the working population can ensure distributive justice for the people, he added.
