Dilip flays CM's promise of 3l jobs by 2019

Senior BJP leader and Rourkela MlA Dilip Ray through his Facebook posting ridiculed Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s declaration to create 3 lakh jobs by 2019. Dilip said this is for the fourth time the Naveen Government has set a timeframe for providing employment to the youth. On the previous three occasions, the Government had miserably failed to achieve its targets. The major reason why the Government failed was disconnect between the avowed objective and the Government’s incapability to create adequate infrastructure.
Mega investment projects which were likely to create job opportunities failed to take off due to the Government’s failure to provide adequate facility to the promoters, he said.Giving certain tips to the Government, Dilip argued there was no spectacular development in the manufacturing sector, especially in the MSME sector, which could have produced jobs on the scale as was required. The Government has recently declared to promote 1.5 lakh industries in the MSME sector which if succeeds may create a large numbers of jobs.
The projects for which MoUs have been signed should be expedited and necessary clearances should be provided, he suggested, adding that the Government must make the policy domain predictable as investors from outside dread unpredictability and uncertainty.Banks should be asked to make flexible their credit policies for the unemployed so that entrepreneurship is promoted.  Unless the Government breaks its present jinx with big projects and promotes MSMEs with a strategy, then the goal of providing employment will again remain unachieved, stated Dilip.
