The Manav Adhikar Surakshya Manch (MASM) has urged Ganjam district Collector Premchand Choudhury here on Monday to install a digital X-ray machine at the City Hospital keeping the emerging needs in mind.
The Collector, who attended a grievance redressal meeting held at the Brahmapur Sub-Collector’s office, heard total 91 grievances. During the meeting, MASM convener Abani Kumar Gaya raised the issue and alleged that the City Hospital was still using the age-old and obsolete healthcare instruments for patients’ treatment.
Due to this problem, Gaya said, doctors of the hospital recommend hundreds of poor patient
everyday to private hospitals and nursing homes to get clear copies of their X-rays along with other test reports, causing inconvenience.
Besides, the Collector solved 63 grievances on the spot out of the total 91 cases. An assistance of Rs 17,500 was paid to a petitioner seeking financial assistance from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
Choudhury reportedly ordered his officials to probe 25 cases including 20 cases relating to varied personal matters. He also forwarded petty issues to the concerned
departments with an instruction for their quick disposal, reports said.
Among others, Brahmapur SP Dr Sarthak Sadangi, Deputy Collector Itishree Das and Government officials including all BDOs were present.
