Hundreds of supporters of the BJP, Digapahadi unit led by Srikanta Padhi staged a demonstration in front of the K Nuagaon police station recently, demanding CBI probe into the murder of 22-year-old Pramodini Nayak at Dekhali village on May 10, 2020 and arrest of culprits at the earliest.
Though the K Nuagaon police had registered a case and started investigation. However, it has ruled out the possibility of the girl being raped before murder. Though five months have already passed, the police have not made any breakthrough in the investigation, lamented Padhi. “We demand that the investigation of the incident be either handed over to the CBI or be conducted as a special case under the guidance of a court. We don’t have faith in the local police,” said Padhi.
Earlier, family members of the deceased led by Padhi had met DIG Satyabrata Bhoi and Brahmapur SP Pinaki Mishra five times, but in vain.
