What matters for a new political party in the country is a laymen’s acceptance. And the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has grabbed it in this tribals-dominated interior district of the State, claimed AAP leaders.

The eagerness in one 20-year-old differently abled Anga Dhali to join the AAP on its launching of membership drive on Monday indicates that laymen do need a change in the governance system.

The AAP opened its district head office in front of the district police headquarters here. The party members took out a grand procession holding the tricolor flags in their hands in the town. While party’s state-level leader Debasish Swain led the procession, the district unit convener K Desi Raju Achary guided the young tribal girl students in the march.

Asked whether any particular group of professionals is joining the party, Achary said, “Those who have joined us are from all walks of life.” He further informed that the youths from across the district are joining the part every day.”The membership drive will continue till January 26, he said.
