An awareness rally on diabetes and thyroid disorders was held at Chhatrapur by the combined efforts of the Diabetes and Endocare Clinic, Brahmapur and the Pandita Nilakanta College, Chhatrapur under the guidance of Dr Sunil Kumar Kota.
Ganjam Collector was Vijay Amruta Kulange was the chief guest in the event while Sub Collector Dattatreya Bhausaheb Shinde and Principal Rajendra Das were the guests of honour. All the guests in their address stressed importance on diet control and regular exercise as primary mode for leading a healthy life. A rally started from college premises and proceeded through different key places of Chatrapur to culminate at X-Lent Clinic premises at main road. Hundreds of students of Nilakantha College, members of Odisha Government Retired Employees Association, and volunteers from several socio-cultural organizations participated in the rally. This was followed by an interactive session on diabetes, thyroid disorders, hypertension and cholesterol where around 150 members participated and got tested for blood sugar and blood pressure.
Collector Kulange appreciated the efforts of Dr Kota.
