Vigilance police on Tuesday arrested Dhenkanal RW Division Auditor-cum-Cashier Pramod Kumar Swain and Peon Madan Mohanty on the charge of demanding and accepting Rs 5000 from a person forward a bill to the Executive Engineer.
Acting on a complaint lodged by Sangram Kesari Dhir of Khanakira villager, the Vigilance police laid a trap and held Swain and Mohanty red handed while accepting bribe money. Swain received the whole amount from Dhir and handed over Rs 1,000 to Mohanty soon.
