Dhenkanal Sadar Additional Tehsildar Laxman Dalei was arrested on Tuesday for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 30,000 from complainant Dillip Senapati of Sadeibereni village in Dhenkanal for not harassing the complainant during transportation of laterite stone.Accused Dalei was caught red-handed during a trap by the officers of Vigilance, Cuttack Division. The rented house of Dalei at Dhenkanal and his house at native village Mangarajpur, Badamba, Cuttack were searched.In another raid case by Vigilance on day, Health Worker (Male), Community Health Centre (CHC), Rajpur, Jharsuguda, Bharat Ghasi was arrested for accepting a bribe of Rs 1,500. Ghasi accepted money from complainant Sarojinee Kishan of Puruna village, Jharsuguda in order to process death certificate in favour of late father of complainant.
On the basis of complaint by Kishan, a trap was laid on Tuesday and Ghasi was caught red-handed. The residential house of Ghasi at Rajpur was searched, besides a case registered against him by Rourkela Vigilance Division.
