Dhauli ex-sarapanch threatened by Jogan Sahayak's kin

Former sarapanch of Dhauli gram panchayat Rabi Maharana has lodged a complaint with the Dhauli police that the family of Jogan Sahayak of the GP Prakash Chandra Swain forcibly entered his home on October 12 and abused him in filthy language.

In the complaint to the Dhauli police station Inspector-in-Charge (IIC), Maharana alleged that the Jogan Sahayak’s father laxmidhar Swain, mother Kukuma Swain and aunt Mina Swain barged into his residence.

When he requested them to get out of the house, they insulted and abused him.

Maharana has stated that three persons, Karunakar Pradhan, Harsha and Ranjukta Maharana, were present on the spot and requested the police to record their statements as witnesses.

Maharana blamed the incident as fallout of Prakash being issued a show-cause notice for turning the GP office into a bar. Prakash is also involved in an atrocity case for setting on fire the house of a Dalit woman for which he was taken to task by the Khordha district administration. This was highlighted in different media, which triggered resentment among Prakash’s family members, following which they targeted the former sarpanch.

Maharana has requested the police for suitable action against the accused.
