The Dhauli College of Art and Crafts celebrated its 23rd foundation day at the Shanti Stupa on the city outskirts on Thursday.
Dr Dharmendra Kumar Patnaik, Utkal University of Culture lecturer Dr Chakradhar Behera, Manas Ranjan Patnaik, astrologer Sripati Achraya and Sarat Kumar Rath’s wife Kalmini Rath and son Priyadarshi Pratyusha Rath graced as guests.
The guests said art education has progressed a lot in the State during the last two decades and the college’s effort in this regard is commendable.
An exhibition of paintings and sculptures was inaugurated. Artist Sangita Patnaik and Manoranjan Maharana were honoured with the Sarat Kumar Rath Memorial Award. College students Sagarika Swain, Prafulla Behera, Jyotiranjan Swain, Manas Maharathi, Iswar Kumar Mahanta and Sarath Palai were also felicitated for excellence in different categories.
