Biju Yuva Janata Dal general secretary Bijay Nayak on Saturday slammed Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over his reaction on Shishu Bhawan deaths and termed his accusation ‘Odisha Government doesn’t respect federal system’ is nothing but a farce.
“The Central doctors’ team in its report has raised fingers against infrastructure lacunae in the Shishu Bhavan. Without announcing support for infrastructure, the Central Government had sent a team of junior doctors for training. Had they been paediatric specialists, the State Government would have never sent them back. The State Government didn’t want to put lives of some infants in the hands of trainee doctors. Hence, the Union Minister’s accusation is nothing but a farch,” Nayak said in a statement.
Nayak alleged that like earlier UPA Government, the present NDA Government has also adopted partiality police in giving grants to the State. “Centre’s announcement of a package of Rs 2 lakh crore for Bihar ahead of Assembly elections and another Rs 2 lakh crore for Andhra Pradesh, leaving Odisha in the middle, are the bright examples of neglect,” said Nayak.
Nayak said Pradhan should introspect himself now as he is trying to pose as an influential leader of the State.
