DGP Abhay on Monday reviewed the security preparedness for Pipili Assembly by-election with senior police officials and emphasised on a free, fair and incident-free poll. He stressed on strict enforcement of model code of conduct and security arrangements, including for visiting VIPs and VVIPs. The DGP further stressed on intensifying prophylactic measures, seizure of illegal arms and execution of NBWs. Law and Order ADGP RK Sharma emphasised on enhancing the work of mobile and flying squads and thorough checking by setting up Nakas around the constituency.
Director Intelligence Lalit Das shared intelligence inputs about bye-election and urged concerned IG and Puri SP to closely monitor the law and order situation.Other issues like taking prompt action on election-related cases and mapping of critical and vulnerable booths and preparing security plan accordingly were also discussed.
