In the wake of Maoist activities reported in bordering Chhattisgarh, Odisha Director General of Police (DGP) KB Singh on Sunday visited the steel city and reviewed the Maoist situation in Sundargarh district.
During his one-day visit here, the DGP also discussed about the general law and order situation of the city with Intelligence Director Suni Kumar Ray, Western Range IG Radha Krushna Sharma and the Rourkela SP.
The DGP's visit assumed significance as Dussehra celebrations are going on. Notably, a riot-like situation had erupted in the city during the Ganesh Puja a month back.
