DGP BK Sharma has laid emphasis on police personnel becoming citizen-friendly and maintaining dignified behaviour towards common people while harping on the 5T mantra for cops.
Inaugurating a newly-constructed Armed Reserve Police Office here on Sunday, he said there has been a noticeable change in the behaviour of police in the last one month and the perception of the people about police is slowly changing for good with implementation of the 5T and Mo Sarkar initiatives of the State Government.
Speaking about these initiatives, the DGP exhorted the cops to maintain the trend and work in tandem with the people whom they are serving.
He also listened to the difficulties faced by the cops in the feedback mechanism. He assured them that only those people who deviate from the expected lines shall be taken to task while those performing exceptionally well would be given befitting incentives and rewards.
Kalahandi SP B Gangadhar organised the meeting, which was attended by at least three cops from the 17 police stations in the Kalahandi district.
The police personnel cited the challenges they confront while implementing the Mo Sarkar and 5T initiatives. The DGP gave out clear-cut instructions in this regard and advised them to adopt an impartial approach in solving issues with the people.
Earlier, the DGP met senior citizens of the district and discussed their problems and advised the district police to look into the issues with all sincerity.
Issues pertaining to women, children and senior citizens are to be handled with utmost priority, advised Sharma.
