Former MlA and veteran politician Arun Dey on Monday condemned the conduct of the SC and ST MlAs inside the State Assembly.
He told a media conference that their conduct was against the sanctity and dignity of the sacred House and totally unacceptable. The lawmakers in no way should have prostrated before Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on the floor of the Assembly.
Dey said Dr BR Ambedkar had ensured the rights for the underprivileged by fighting against the then system and Government through movements.
“These members, if they at all wanted something for a just cause, should have taken the path of movement instead of falling at the feet of the Chief Minister. What they did is unprecedented, uncommon and unforgivable. The Opposition has utterly failed to deliver and play their roles in the democracy, as expected by the voters. The MlAs, for their conduct, should be dealt by their respective parties,” said Dey.
