A devotee has evinced interest to offer some gold ornaments to Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra in the Puri temple.
Though the identity of the generous person has been kept a secret because of his request, it is known that he will donate ornaments, which are conventionally used for decorations of the Trinity during their rites.
The ornaments include Chandra (moon), Surya (Sun) and Abkash Patia, a thin gold blade used in the decoration during deities' Abakash rites. The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) informed that gold ornaments weighing around 300 to 400 grams each would be designed within a month by goldsmiths as per a decision already taken by the temple managing board on Tuesday. Earlier, another devotee had also desired to offer gold in form of certain ornaments for the deities. With this gold, the temple administration had decided to make a pair of ornaments like the Sri-MuKha, Padma, Tadaki, Joba and Kanthi besides various necklaces. Due to his request, SJTA had also hidden his identity.
