Despite regular raids by the Commissionerate police, sex racket operations are still rampant in the capital city even after a handful of persons, including notorious sex racketeer Sunil Meher landing in the police net a few months ago.
The Saheed Nagar police on Tuesday busted a major sex racket operating in Acharya Vihar area and arrested two persons, including the pimp and a customer and rescued four women.
Acting on a tipoff, the Quick Action Team (QAT) sleuths and Saheed Nagar police conducted a raid on a rented house of one Bijay Rout at the Biseswar Basti and apprehended pimp Sita Swain along with four girls and customer Ramesh Chandra Das.
During the raid the girls were found in compromising position with the customer.
Police arrested pimp Sita and customer Ramesh and sent the four victim girls to short stay home.
Three mobile phones, one CBZ Extreme (Black Colour) and other incriminating items were seized from the house.
Kingpin Sita was running the brothel engaging the young girls in immoral activity.
