Dereliction of duty: K'pada teacher sacked

Published on:

Collector Debaraj Senapati on Thursday disengaged Abhaya Kumar Dash, a junior teacher of Sankhapur Primary School under Pattamundai block on grounds of dereliction of duty, unauthorised absence in school and engaging a proxy teacher, informed DPC SSA Kanhu Charan Dhir.

It may be noted here that Dash got the boot after a news item on this was published on Thursday last in “The Pioneer” under headline: Teacher dons Baba mantle, uses proxy.

The district Collector –cum-Chairman of SSA had served a so cause notice to Dash earlier after his unathroised absence and use of proxy came to his notice with an inquiry report by BEO of Pattamundai. On getting no reply from Dash, the Collector sacked him from the job.

Dash acted as a Baba and was attending to his disciples by remaining absent at school. He had engaged a proxy teacher who taught at his absence. Dash, however, was drawing his salary in a hush-hush manner. He was popular as Abhaya Baba.
