The report of the Satya Prakash Nanda committee, constituted to probe irregularities in the supply of essential commodities and recycling of rice, is not yet received by the Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare (FS and CW) Department despite all efforts.
Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Sanjay Kumar Dasburma informed this in the
State Assembly in response to a question of Congress MlA Tara Prasad Bahinipati on Saturday.
However, the Minister said many steps have been taken to check irregularities in supply of essential commodities and recycling of rice.
“Rice collection centres have been computerised to maintain transparency and the process from procurement of foodgrains to distribution among beneficiaries is being inspected by a supply chain management system.
Besides, a PoS system has been put in place identify real beneficiaries at retail centres,” the Minister said.
