A staff nurse died due to dengue here on Sunday. Deceased Sima Manjari Sahu was working in the Nehru Satabdi Hospital, Talcher.She was under treatment in a private hospital of Bhubaneswar from July 18.
locals alleged that the Satabdi Hospital area became a dengue mosquito breeding centre and demanded that a sanitation drive be undertaken by the hospital authorities.
The number of dengue patients is on the increase day by day in Angul district. Seven dengue positive virus cases have already been detected in the District Headquarters Hospital. A total of 63 dengue positive cases have been detected in the district so far as reported by the Health Department.
