Dhenkanal-based voluntary organisation Janadhikar Samiti in a memorandum to President Pranab Mukherjee on Monday protested the recent brutal attacks by CPI(M) activists on BJP and RSS workers in Kerala and sought his intervention.

Social activists Deepak Prasad Pattnaik, Deeptish Prasad Pattnaik, Rama Chandra Patra, Prem Kedia, Niranjan Das and others in their representation submitted to the ADM, have cited the recent brutal attacks on the BJP and RSS workers of Kanjikode of Palghat district in Kerala.

“This depicts the growing political intolerance of the Communists after the lDF Government assumed power in the State. The Chief Minister of Kerala is watching like a mute spectator, instead of discharging his Constitutional responsibility and political ethics,” the activists said in the memorandum.

However, the citizens’ body after staging a demonstration before the Collectorate also has appealed to the President to exercise his Constitutional powers to restore peace in the affected areas.

Similarly, a rally was held by the Manav Adhikar Suraksha Manch in Parlakhemundi on Monday protesting the murder and mayhem created by the CPM hoodlums in Kerala.

The Manch in a memorandum addressed to the President demanded stringent action against the accused. The agitators shouted slogans against the bloody violence in Kerala and submitted a memorandum to the Gajapati district administration.

Among others, Purnachandra Mahapatra, Anadi Panigrahi, Brajakishrore Patnaik, Jagannath Mahapatra, Mahant Ramananda Das led the protestors.
