Demonetisation: Cong Akrosh stir on Monday

Published on:

As part of the nation-wide stir called by the AICC against the problems faced by the common people due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decision of demonetisation of the high-value currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000, the State Congress would hold ‘Jana Akrosh’ rallies across the State on Monday.

Party workers would stage demonstrations and organise protest rallies at all districts and block headquarters in the State on November 28, Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Prasad Harichandan told reporters here on Thursday.

Asking the Central Government that how much corruption and black money have been removed after 16 days of banning high-denomination notes, Harichandan charged that the Rs 8 lakh crore loan taken by industrialists across the country is yet to be recovered by the Central Government.

“The Narendra Modi Government has so far waived Rs 1 lakh crore of debt for the industrialists, but why there is no such waiver for farmersIJ” Harichandan questioned.

On being asked about the rift between the PCC and the Congress legislature Party (ClP), Harichandan said, “I will take responsibility for any damage caused due to me in the party in the State.”

“Everything will not be discussed with the media. There is something wrong in our party as has been in other parties. I assert that I will take the entire responsibility if anything wrong happens to the party on account of me,” defended Harichandan.
