The Balangir Municipality on Wednesday carried out the demolition drive in the house of Timan’s aide Khirodra Mishra in Shantipada area in Ward-21 for the second day.
Six houses constructed illegally in three revenue plots, (plot no 427,430 and 431) identified by the revenue administration were demolished and the land was made encroachment free.
Encroachment from another plot adjacent to the house of Mishra would be cleared on Thursday, said Municipality Executive Officer Jayant Kumar Parida.
During the demolition, Magistrate in charge Satyanarayn Meher, town police station IIC Prasant Pattnaik, the Assistant Executive Engineer PWD and several other officials were present.
One platoon police was deployed to maintain law and order, said IIC Pattnaik .
Meanwhile, Mishra along with his family members was absconding.
