Residents of VSS Nagar here are a worried lot as officials of the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) and the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) bulldozed the boundary wall of the proposed hospital in the locality here on Tuesday.
The residents had been demanding a medical in the locality for the last 25 years. After a long wait, the BMC Mayor had laid a foundation stone for construction of the proposed hospital’s boundary wall on January 16, 2015. The General Administration Department had allocated 55 decimals land for the hospital. The boundary wall was constructed last year at a cost of Rs 4.95 lakh.
However, the BMC and BDA officials pull down the boundary shattering the local people’s dream for a hospital into pieces, said VSS Nagar Unnayan Parishad general secretary Dillip Dashsharma in a Press statement on Tuesday. He too wanted to know who would meet the expenditure to be incurred for reconstruction of the boundary wall.
Dashsharma demanded construction of a hospital in the locality and necessary steps need to be taken by the Government in this regard forthwith.
