Democratic values are being diluted with the passage of time; and as a result, the main objective of democracy cannot be achieved. People’s representatives are also spoiling democratic values after being elected.

This was the general opinion expressed by members of the media at a seminar on "Indian Democracy on Transformation" while celebrating the foundation day of the Brajrajnagar Press Club at the Municipal Kalyan Mandap at Brajrajnagar earlier this week.

Chief guest former MlA and State lift Irrigation Corporation Chairman Anup Kumar Sai and guests of honour MCl Ib Valley Area GM Madhusudan Sharma and Brajrajnagar SDPO NC Dandsena and Brajrajnagar Press Club president Santosh Kumar Mishra spoke at the seminar.

Besides, Senior lecturer of Political Science Department of Brajrajnagar College Padma Mohapatra attended as chief speaker. Noted journalists Mehboob Mahatab, Upan Charan Sahu, Nilendra Kumar Gajendra, Subash Pradhan and Jharsuguda Press Club president Santosh Kumar Mishra gave their views on the subject.

On this occasion, senior journalists of the district Gajendra Kumar Mohanty and Raj Kumar Sharma were felicitated by the chief guest. Journalist Pratap Singh offered a vote of thanks.
