The Jan Ekta-Jan Adhikar Andolan (JEJAA), an umbrella organisation consisting of trade unions, farmers, workers and youths and students, State and Central Government employees, Dalits, Adivasis, environmentalists and others, held a demonstration here on Wednesday against the anti-people policies of the BJP led-NDA Government at the Centre.

JEJAA member Suresh Panigrahi said the four years of the NDA Government has devastated the lives of all sections of people and none of its promises to the people has been fulfilled.

He alleged that the NDA Government had promised “Sabka Vikas” (development of all), but the development is only for a few corporate companies.

The crimes against Adivasis, Dalits and minorities have increased during the tenure of the Modi Government, he also alleged.

Panigrahi said that the BJP had claimed to provide employment to two crore youths per year, but even two lakh jobs per year have not been created in the last four years of its rule.

The protest was held in all the State capitals followed by a week-long campaign in which leaflets would be distributed, cycle and motorcycle rallies and meetings would be held all over the country.
