The demand for establishment of a Circuit Bench of the State Consumer Commission at Brahmapur in Ganjam district is mounting day-by-day with different quarters urging Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to intervene in the matter.
BJD Ganjam district president Subash Chandra Maharana wrote a letter to the Chief Minister in this regard on Thursday. “The people of Ganjam have been demanding for establishment of the circuit bench since long. Kindly intervene into the matter soon for the larger interest of the consumers,” Maharana mentioned in the letter.
Similarly, the Ganjam Bar Association of Berhampur and the District Consumer Bar Association had on Wednesday resorted to a cease-work at the District Judicial Court here demanding the same. Members of these two association expressed resentments stating that while required infrastructure has been provided by the State Government, delay in setting up of the circuit bench is deplorable.
