Demand for 2nd B'pur passenger halt gets louder

Published on:

In support of the demand for setting up of a second passenger halt in the Brahmapur industrial area, the Passenger Halt Sangram Samiti has warned to stage a mass movement in coming days.

Samiti president Panchanan Choudhury said even local MP Siddhant Mohapatra has been apprised of the urgent need for building a second passenger halt in Brahmapur several times, but he has turned a deaf ear to the demand.

Besides, a team from the Khurda DRM office had come to Brahmapur on May 30 for technical analysis and assured to take immediate steps for setting up a second passenger halt. “All types of technical analysis and survey have been completed for the passenger halt. However, DRM P Rabindran in his visit to the Brahmapur railway station denied having any information regarding this. This is disappointing,” said Samiti secretary Abani Gaya.
