One painting depicts a woman who completes the family being a daughter, sister, wife and mother while another depicts a woman’s character who can bear a lot of pain silently. She is not only a beautiful creation of God but also the best example of kindness.
These were some of the themes of paintings which were on display at the painting exhibition titled ‘Mudrayas’ organised at the Odisha Modern Art Gallery here. The six-day exhibition concluded on Monday. Odia girls lopamudra Jena and Ayaskanta Sahoo, who are based in Delhi as fashion designers, displayed their paintings for the first time in Odisha.
“Though we are fashion designers by profession, we are painters by passion,” said the duo. Based on four themes such as global warming, eternal love, women’s empowerment and feminism, the exhibition showcased around 50 paintings in the gallery. Using acrylic colour, ink, fabrics, multi-medium, mixed media and collage, the two artists tried to express their inner feelings through paintings entitled the modern world and its mind, the secret of energy flow, let service be the goal of our life, etc., in the exhibition.
