Ahead of the annual Rath Yatra, defiant Daitapati servitors, who are claiming themselves as the brothers of lord Jagannath, on Tuesday did not visit Gajapati Maharaj Dibyasingh Deb at the Rajnaar to inform him about the deities’ wellness breaking thousand years of tradition and practice. Notably, the Daitapati servitors are upset over the ban on devotees climbing on chariots during the Rath Yatra. They held that the Jagadgur Shankaracharya of Puri Gobardhanpith Nischalananda Saraswati and the Gajapati Maharaj are the key persons for the ban move. As the Daitapaties skipped visiting Rajnaar, the Pati Mohapatra servitors visited the palace and completed the formalities. “There may be some problem with the Daitapaties. I believe that they will extend all supports for the smooth and peaceful conduct of the Rath Yatra,” said the Gajapati.
