The rescheduled written test for civil constable recruitment of the Odisha police for the year 2015 was held on Sunday at about 31 examination centres spread across all the police districts of the State. This examination was earlier scheduled on March 15. But it was cancelled exactly on the day of examination as the questions had leaked and were available in the open market on a premium. At least eight persons have already been arrested in the question leak case.
“The 45-minute examination was held smoothly at each centre amid tight security and there was no report of any untoward incident received from anywhere,” informed Chairman of the Service Selection Board of Odisha police AM Prasad.
Over 19,000 aspirants, who had qualified in the physical tests, appeared in the written examination, Prasad said, adding that efforts are being made to publish the results as soon as possible for selecting candidates for 1,360 posts of constables. “The OMR answer sheets would be evaluated both manually and with the help of computers to maintain transparency,” Prasad said.
