Governor and Chancellor of universities Dr SC Jamir on Monday appointed Prof Deepak Kumar Behera of the Sambalpur University as the new Vice-Chancellor of the Berhampur University.
Prof Behera, currently Professor of Anthropology, has been a widely travelled academician having visited more than 30 countries. Recently, he was the visiting professor in a German university for three months.
Behera’s papers and academic works have been widely appreciated at the national and international levels, besides successfully guiding a number of research projects. He has been appointed for a period of three years from the date of joining or attainment of 65 years of age, whichever is earlier.
