The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would celebrate the birth centenary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya for one year from September 25, 2016 to September 25, 2017.
State-level Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Birth Centenary Committee coordinator and BJP State vice-president Nayan Kishore Mohanty informed about the year-long programmes on Deendayal Upadhyaya at a Press meet here on Saturday.
The BJP national executive jointly with the Rashtriya Parishad is organising a meeting from September 23 to 25 at Kojhikod in Kerala.
The programme would be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday.
Plantation programme, blood donation camp, rallies, sports and quiz competitions and Yoga and Pranayam camps etc would be held throughout the year, Mohanty said. The contribution of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya would be discussed.
Among others State BJP spokesperson Dillip Mohanty, BJP Bartta’s chief editor Purnachandra Mallick, executive editor Bhubanananda Tripathy were present.
