Dedicated cluster for Japanese investment

In the India-Japan Investment Forum, a virtual conference was held on Wednesday organised by the Indian Chambers of Commerce (ICC).

The State Industries Department listed out advantages like stable governance, state-of-the-art industrial infrastructure, abundant natural resources and strategically-located coastline to attract investment from the world’s third-largest economy.

Steps taken to streamline the investment process and create a business-friendly environment were outlined by Industries Minister Dibya Shankar Mishra.

To attract Japanese investors, the Government offered a 3.53-sqkm-industry-ready stretch near Bhubaneswar. The land parcel is a plug-and-play industrial land with a research lab, dormitories for employees and other facilities for industrial projects, Mishra told.

For investors intending to set up petrochemical units, the State has 2,500 acres of plots near the Paradip Port, said Industries Secretary Hemant Sharma.
