The State committee of All India Forward Bloc, the party founded by Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, has urged Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to declare Netaji’s birth day (January 23) as ‘Deshprem Diwas’ as a lasting tribute to the great son of the soil.
In a letter to the Chief Minister, All India Forward Bloc State joint convener Jyoti Ranjan Mohapatra said while appreciating the State Government’s plan to launch a website on Bose, requested him to declare his birth day as Deshprem Diwas. “As Cuttack, the city of million years, is fortunate for being the birth place of an illustrious son like Netaji, the State should come forward to honour this great patriot in equal sprit so as to inculcate value of nationalism and patriotic feeling among the present-day youths,” said Mohapatra.
