Thousands of villagers in Gondia block under the banner of Anti-Corruption Committee and Krushak Sangharsha Samiti handed over an 11-point charter of demands to Gondia Tehsildar after taking out a rally. Farmer leader Debashisha Hota led them.
They urged the local administration to fulfill their demands by December 4 and warned of intensifying their agitation if the administration goes apathetic. Their demands included declaring Dhenkanal as Phailin-affected, giving compensation to all farmers at Rs 25,000 per hectare of crop loss, Rs 1 lakh assistance for house damage, repair of roads and electric structure among others.
