The Jay Krushak Club has urged the State Government to declare Akshay Tritiya as a Government holiday, besides observing the day as Krushak Divas.
“Akshay Tritiya is a very important day for the farmers’ community in the State. Therefore, the Government should take initiative to celebrate day as Krushak Divas by declaring it as a holiday from this year,” said club president Pratap Sahoo in a Press release.He said that though the first ‘Krushak Temple’ was built in 2005 in the Gokana-Manijori in Mahanga by some locals, the Government is yet to provide any type of support for its wide publicity.“This Krushak Temple is the first of its kind in the State. The State Government should celebrate Krushak Divas from this place,” urged club general secretary Basant Kumar Barik.
